A niche market is simply a group of people with similar interests looking for a solution to the same problem. Why do people with similar interests make the best target market? Of course, if you have a big, easily targetable market, you'll make a lot of money; and if you have a small, easily targetable market, you'll make a smaller amount of money. But either way, starting an Internet business based on an easily targetable market, you'll make money!
