The "Ghost Whisperer" star and fiancé Ross McCall have ended engagement with Actress and singer Jennifer Love Hewitt , according to People.com.

People Magazine quotes a source as saying: "They broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement."

Jennifer Love Hewitt first met Ross McCall in 2006 when he made a guest appearance on CBS' TV series "Ghost Whisperer", where she plays Melinda Gordon. After a year of dating, they got engaged in November 2007, while vacationing in Hawaii.

They’re both really sad about this. Even their friends are surprised, they seemed really happy. Everyone just wants the best for both of them.
