Home Business Tips - How to Nip Skeptics in the Bud!

By Fabian Tan

If you have aspirations of owning your own home business, you may have encountered some objections along the way. People who are not in business are likely to discourage you. My advice to you: soldier on! What these people think about your aspirations does not matter one iota. What matters is that you drive on in going after your goals.

I've encountered my fair share of skeptics along the way. I've had many people discourage me and say that owning a business is risky and that getting a job is the more 'secure' path to earning an income. Well, that is changing now! Job security is becoming harder to find. The truth is, in a day job, your employer holds the cards not you! If the company decides to downsize or close their company down or move their company elsewhere, you're out of a job. Moreover, I'm pretty sure you don't like waking up to an alarm clock, traveling in rush hour traffic and having to answer to a grumpy boss.

On the other hand, with your own business, you're in control. You hold the cards. But I digress. Sometimes there's no point arguing with someone who has a different view point to yours. People's opinions are hard to change. My advice is to work on business part-time while keeping your day job, and once your business is pulling in a substantial income, quit your day job if you want and begin living the entrepreneurial lifestyle. I guarantee you - you will love it!
